Our experiences about the topics

MANAGEMENT :

  • SYSTEM’S ORGANISATION
              - Materials
ANA H: in some subjects, my classmates and I worked with computers.

              - Evaluation by exams
ANA H: in my last years at this school, in subjects such as history, I memorized for the exam, and then I forgot everything I had studied. We only acquired theoretical knowledge, and we did not do any practical activity.
ALE: For me a lot of subjects in the high school were very bored, because it consisted in listen, copy and study for an exam.

              - outdoor activities
ALE: During school we did activities with other classes inside the school, and we had excursions too.
ANA R: another thing that was important in my childhood were the schools trips, because there was a good way of seeing cultural monuments and learn about history.

              
              - Timetable
ALE: It is a new stage totally different. In it I had eleven subjects (the double that in primary) and then we had a different teacher in every subject.
CARLOS: The timetable change, our classes last 45 minutes.

              - Number of students per class:
ANA R: The director of the school defended that there was 30 students per class, but that wasn't true.
ALE: with the system of points and limited vacancy I could not go to this school near my house.
ALE: In primary, we were 23 in class.
ALE: In the high school we were 31 in class.
CARLOS: the classes there are between 19 and 25 children.

  • TEACHING METHODS
              - Way of evaluation
ANA R: I remember that he evaluated us as in a television contest, so everyone was studying much to win.
ALE: There were exams, more theory subject-matter
              - Homeworks and boring classes:
ALE: You only had homework if you didn’t finish the activities in class and with his help.
ANA R: Don Francisco taught me the importance of studying and that is not always so boring as it seems
ANA H: we did not do practical activities and all classes were very boring. In this period of my life I studied a lot, but I did not learn anything useful for my future.
CARLOS: I remind that one year the teacher make a singular contest where there is a ranking. If you had known the answer, you would had advanced in the ranking.

              - Learning by head
ALE: There were subjects with exams, very theory subjects
CARLOS: I remind the theoretic subjects because I can not remember all that I had studied.

              - Dynamic classes
ALE: Then in the third and fourth of primary I had another teacher. I have very good memories about him. He explained very good, and he did classes very easy for me.

              - Punishments
ANA H: The boys could not wear earrings or have long hair, and girls could not wear trousers for the uniform. Also, makeup was forbidden. Some of my friends were penalized for these reasons.

SOCIAL

  • RELATIONSHIPS
              - teachers and friends
ANA R: Nowadays, she continues to be an important person in my life, those that you so much glad to see one day walking.
ANA H: A year, I had a problem with a child. this child insulted me every day. I did not want to go to school, because I was afraid. One day, I decided to tell my problems to the teacher. Honestly, she did not help me with my problem at this moment, but she sent the boy to talk to the director.
CARLOS: My teacher Flor. With her firstly we pray to a picture of Christ. This teacher was very religious and I think that this personality leave a mark on my own personality. She tell me that I was a special pupil.

              
ANA R: the truth is that they could not receive me better, all my partners helped me, and the teachers gave me some facilities and helps so that I did not feel out of place.
ANA H: at first I did not like this school, but when I met my first friends everything changed.
CARLOS: At the end I have not a friend near of my childhood.

              - relation with classmates
ANA H: my best friend and I always had good marks, and competitivity was very common.
ALE: We did some group activities with different partners, to promote coeducation.
CARLOS: I had not problems with my partners, in general I got along with my classmates.

  • FEELINGS
              - Competivity
ANA H: Some teachers, from the first days of class, they had classified their students. Not all children have the same opportunities.
CARLOS: During my childhood I remember that it was very important to finish earlier the homeworks. Being the first was cool.

              - Good memories and satisfaction at learning
ANA H: I liked this religious school. In this, we were doing a lot of sports activities.
ALE: I had a really good pre-school in my opinion.
              

CULTURE

  • MORAL VALUES
ANA R: being the only one in my class who did not choose the optional religion, this teacher gave me kind of manners and citizenship, thing that I appreciate today.
ANA H: my second primary school was a religious school. Some of my teachers at this school were nuns. Every day before class starts, we prayed, and once a month we had an Eucharist.
CARLOS: This teacher was very religious and I think that this personality leave a mark on my own personality.

POLITICAL
  • WAYS OF WORK
ALE: We learned a lot of things with plays and practice activities.
ALE: The best memory of this teacher is that he explained the subject, then he solved the questions and then he gave us activities to learn the subject of the day.
CARLOS: I remind my teacher of maths, their classes was very boring and I did not solve the exercises.

  • KINDS OF SCHOOL ( PUBLIC, PRIVATE)
ALE: I am in a bilingual group. The high school was public like my school.
ANA R: I have always studied at publics schools.
ANA H: my second primary school was a religious school. Some of my teachers at this school were nuns.
CARLOS: My first school was public and the high school was (concertado)private.
